Funds

Apna Ghar relies on donations and contributions to enable us to sustain and develop the Centre for the local community. Additional to that, we have contracts with the Birmingham City Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to provide day care to the elderly, disable, critical and vulnerable people in the community.  
We welcome voluntary donations enabling us to improve our services and facilities. Should any person wish to donate, they can make a one off payment, pay monthly, quarterly or annually to suit an individual's financial status. We can assure you that the donations received only be used to improve the facilities and improve day care to the elderly. you can make a payment by cheque to Apnaghar Ltd. or make a payment into our account as detailed below:

Training and Development

At Apna Ghar, we encourage training and development for all. This includes staff, volunteers and trustees. Staff members are encouraged to obtain National Vocational Qualifications by attending Colleges on part time basis.
The Centre also offers "work experience" facilities for anyone wishing to gain experience in obtaining employment in working with the elderly and also social skills.

Carers Support

Apna Ghar also provides support group for carers, whether it is the family or contracted carers, and they are also able to use all the available facilities. This also provides respite for private carers.
We do also request that we are made aware of any changes (health, physical etc) of a user so that the staff can make sure that they are able to deal with any issues which may arise.

If any person wishes to hire our facilities for holding evening and/ or weekend functions, we would offer a competitive rate, for meetings, seminars, small parties (up to 100 guests). If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Co-Ordinator of the Centre. 
Advice and Information 

The Centre runs an advisory service for users and other people in the community.
This includes assistance in completing forms relating to benefit claims, legal forms, VIS applications for going on holidays.
The centre is also visited by solicitors and other professional bodies, who will assist with any issues. 

Partnership

Apna Ghar values partnership, working together and supporting other organisations, working towards improving community relationships. 
We are regularly visited by officers of West Midlands Fire Service. The staff of the Fire Service will also visit the residences of the users and carry a safety check of the premises and fit smoke alarms where required. 
Officials from West Ambulance Fire Service will visit the Centre and will do health checks of the users. Any user needing medical attention is advised to consult their GP.
Police Officers will also visit the Centre and advise the users about staying secure at home and also being careful when walking or boarding a bus. 
We also work in partnership with Alzheimer's Society, Ageing Better in Birmingham, Midlands Art Centre and The Muath Centre. 
In collaboration with the staff of Ambulance Services, Fire Services will be visiting residences of elderly people to ensure that they are not at the risk of trips and falls.
We also take into consideration comments from our users, staff and other professionals visiting the Centre and develop the service as suggested and required. This will ensure that the Day Centre facility is enjoyed by all those attending the Centre.
