Advice and Information
The Centre runs an advisory service for users and other people in the community.
This includes assistance in completing forms relating to benefit claims, legal forms, VIS applications for going on holidays.
The centre is also visited by solicitors and other professional bodies, who will assist with any issues.
Partnership
Apna Ghar values partnership, working together and supporting other organisations, working towards improving community relationships.
We are regularly visited by officers of West Midlands Fire Service. The staff of the Fire Service will also visit the residences of the users and carry a safety check of the premises and fit smoke alarms where required.
Officials from West Ambulance Fire Service will visit the Centre and will do health checks of the users. Any user needing medical attention is advised to consult their GP.
Police Officers will also visit the Centre and advise the users about staying secure at home and also being careful when walking or boarding a bus.
We also work in partnership with Alzheimer's Society, Ageing Better in Birmingham, Midlands Art Centre and The Muath Centre.
In collaboration with the staff of Ambulance Services, Fire Services will be visiting residences of elderly people to ensure that they are not at the risk of trips and falls.
We also take into consideration comments from our users, staff and other professionals visiting the Centre and develop the service as suggested and required. This will ensure that the Day Centre facility is enjoyed by all those attending the Centre.
